Workshop 1 - 8:30 am - 9:30 am
"From Surviving to Thriving (in 3 simple steps)"
with Peter Hughes
Could it be that we are so masterful at jumping into survival mode that we do it unconsciously without considering the possibility of thriving through an experience? During this one hour workshop, we'll consider mastering the Art of Thriving as a possibility and maybe even a way of life.
Workshop 2 - 9:30 am - 11:30 am
"Taking Aim: Firearms Orientation for the Stage"
with Kathy Herrin
Many community theatre groups are challenged when staging a show that involves firearms. Sometimes it's because of a lack of knowledge or fear of guns or not knowing what firearms resources are available. Unfortunately, shows may suffer because of an inappropriate weapon choice or ineffective handling of the item. This session will utilize the expertise of two law enforcement range officers to discuss the different types of weapons, how they should be handled, appropriate discharge reaction, possible local resources and basic firearms safety. Not a class for experienced hunters or gun enthusiasts. A variety of (unloaded) firearms will be displayed and participants may handle most of them. Seminar students please note - NO PERSONAL FIREARMS AND/OR AMMUNITION ALLOWED IN THE CLASS!
